Karoline Leavitt on Trump’s Direct Diplomacy

In a recent interview, former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt provided insights into President Donald Trump’s approach to diplomacy, recalling interactions with foreign leaders and allies.

Leavitt shared her experiences during a conversation on the “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast. She described Trump’s straightforwardness during calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as in a meeting with former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

“I sat in on a lunch with the president and Starmer. The president started criticizing his policies, questioning his stance on immigration,” Leavitt recounted.

Leavitt explained that Trump’s public statements often align with his private discussions, emphasizing his honesty in diplomatic settings. She noted that Trump’s comments to the media reflect what he says behind closed doors.

Leavitt detailed the president’s directness during translator-assisted calls, particularly when discussing issues like fentanyl with Xi in South Korea. She mentioned the president’s insistence on curbing the precursors to fentanyl shipped from China and his advocacy for increased U.S. soybean purchases.

According to Leavitt, Trump’s demands soon led to actionable results that benefited the U.S.

“He consistently pushed for what our country and our people need, without hesitation,” she highlighted.

Leavitt recently announced her departure from her White House role to focus on her family. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Press Secretary and represent the administration’s achievements.
