Kate Middleton attended the Trooping the Colour ceremony on Saturday, wearing a baby blue ensemble by Catherine Walker. Her outfit included a matching hat by Philip Treacy. This annual military parade celebrates King Charles III’s official birthday.
An interesting detail was the jewelry Kate chose, notably her mother-in-law Princess Diana’s iconic pearl bracelet. Princess Charlotte, Kate’s daughter, wore a similar bracelet, sparking discussion among royal watchers.

The pearl bracelet, designed by Nigel Milne, holds significant royal history. Diana wore it with different iconic outfits in 1989, including during a state banquet in Hong Kong. After Diana’s death, Prince William inherited the bracelet and later gave it to Kate.
During the event, Princess Charlotte, 11, wore a white dress with blue details. She coordinated with her brother, Prince George, who had a baby blue tie. Prince George and their younger brother Prince Louis joined their mother in a carriage. Prince William participated in the military procession on horseback.
The Princess of Wales joined King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals. Camilla wore a scarlet coat with gold detailing. Charles appeared in military uniform, adorned with medals and a sash.
This appearance marked Kate’s continued engagement in public duties post-cancer treatment. Christopher Andersen, author of “Kate!”, commented on Kate’s growing influence within the monarchy, noting comparisons to Princess Diana.
No one in recent memory has had a greater impact on the monarchy than Kate,” Andersen said.
Beyond this event, Kate has previously nodded to Diana’s fashion choices. Last year at Trooping the Colour, she wore a powder-blue look reminiscent of Diana’s 1988 ensemble.
This year’s Trooping the Colour concluded with a traditional Buckingham Palace balcony appearance and flypast, involving over 1,500 military personnel, 200 horses, and 400 musicians.
