LIV Golf Secures New Investor After Losing Saudi Funding

1 hour ago 0

LIV Golf, the breakaway golf league known for its divisive nature, has secured a lead investor following the loss of its Saudi funding. As of Wednesday, the league announced that it has found a new source of financial backing to support operations beyond the current season.

Scott O’Neil, the CEO of LIV Golf, declined to disclose the identity of the new investor. However, he assured that a term sheet has been signed and received approval from LIV’s board. The transaction is anticipated to be finalized by September.

This development leaves uncertainty over how the league will manage player contracts and other commitments that extend beyond this season. Notably, top players like Bryson DeChambeau remain aligned with LIV Golf despite recent financial hurdles.
