A man named Keith Jonathan Webster drove into the wooden gate of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s home in East Hampton, as reported by the police on Wednesday afternoon. Webster, aged 63 and residing in the Bronx, has been charged with felony criminal mischief in the second degree. He also faces a misdemeanor charge for third-degree criminal trespass.

The police report highlighted significant damage to the front gate of the couple’s property. Witnesses noted that Webster approached the gate at high speed, breaking through it before stopping on their driveway.

Following the incident, Webster’s vehicle was impounded to serve as evidence. During the processing, he mentioned an injury, after which he was taken to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. After medical examination, he was returned to police custody.

Webster appeared in court on Thursday for arraignment, where Justice Steven Tekulsky implemented a stay-away order. This order prohibits Webster from contacting Beyoncé and Jay-Z. During the hearing, Webster seemed disoriented and was subsequently taken to Stony Brook University Hospital’s mental health facility for evaluation.

Detective Sergeant Jennifer Dunn conveyed that Webster’s reasons for the crash are still being investigated. According to the East Hampton Press, Webster has no prior criminal record. It remains unknown whether the celebrity couple was home during the incident, as a request for comment has not been answered as yet by them.
