A Miami steakhouse manager has been arrested after an incident involving the death of his mother in a luxury apartment. Stefano Eduardo Cremasco-Cicero, 36, is charged with second-degree murder following the discovery of his mother’s body, who had been fatally stabbed.

Miami police were called to a high-rise in the Brickell area around 4:47 a.m. after receiving a request for assistance. Officers found Cremasco-Cicero in the lobby, his hands, clothing, and shoes stained with blood. He reportedly claimed he acted in self-defense when questioned by the police.

Inside the apartment, authorities discovered his mother with multiple stab wounds, pronounced dead shortly after 5 a.m. The Miami Fire Rescue responded to the scene, confirming her death. Cremasco-Cicero’s mother was visiting from Mexico and staying with him at the time.

Details of the incident began to unfold with the arrival of a food delivery driver who encountered Cremasco-Cicero. He allegedly asked her to call 911 for assistance and later made the call himself, passing the phone to her to provide building information to the dispatcher.

Investigation through surveillance footage and building records revealed that Cremasco-Cicero and his mother entered the building together the previous night around 10:32 p.m. By 4:26 a.m., Cremasco-Cicero was seen in an elevator wearing blood-stained clothing and holding a knife. Surveillance captured him discarding the knife, then picking it up and using another elevator to return upstairs.

Following the incident, Cremasco-Cicero’s wife, who was in France, informed detectives that his mother was indeed staying with him. Despite the familial connection, there was reportedly some distance between Cremasco-Cicero and his mother after his parents’ divorce.

Crime scene investigators retrieved several bloodied knives, blood-spattered clothing, broken glass, and a wine bottle from the apartment. Cremasco-Cicero had minor cuts on his hands. Photographic evidence and clothing were collected for further examination.

Authorities also highlighted that Cremasco-Cicero is an illegal immigrant, according to the Department of Homeland Security. An ICE detainer has been lodged against him due to his immigration status. He is currently held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with additional federal immigration holds pending.

The precise motive for the alleged crime remains unknown. Fox News Digital is seeking additional information from relevant authorities and involved parties.
