Asked to share an unpopular opinion, Crow-Armstrong stated, “Babe Ruth never existed,” citing a podcast he heard involving Mariners pitcher Tayler Saucedo. In the podcast, Saucedo speculated about Ruth’s existence due to the scarcity of video footage capturing his gameplay, suggesting the lack of evidence might imply Ruth was never real.

Instead of focusing solely on the video evidence, Crow-Armstrong expands this theory based on his experiences and observations in modern baseball. “We always talk about how the game is evolving,” he remarked, indicating that baseball might have been different in Ruth’s era, possibly simpler. He humorously extended this thought to suggest that Ruth may not have existed, provoking laughter from Carson Kelly, who dismissed the idea as absurd.

Although Crow-Armstrong’s proposal drew parallels to conspiracy theories like the moon landing, the discussion swiftly moved on when opposing views were suggested.

This isn’t the first time Crow-Armstrong has stirred public attention. During the offseason, he made waves with comments disparaging Dodgers fans, despite his Los Angeles origins. His statements led to backlash during his games in LA, where fans reacted strongly. Reflecting on those encounters with Maddie Lee of the Los Angeles Times, Crow-Armstrong said, “If we’re going to be immature and childish about it, I’d say they started it, they just gave me an opportunity to kind of run with it.”
