Country music artist Nate Smith has undergone a remarkable transformation through his significant weight loss journey. Smith revealed that he often felt out of breath while performing simple activities in the past. However, shedding over 70 pounds has led to a resurgence in his energy levels and overall wellness.

During the Sports Illustrated and Tight End University’s Tight Ends & Friends Concert, held at The Pinnacle in Nashville, Smith shared his future health objectives with People magazine. Known for his hit ‘Bulletproof,’ Smith expressed his intention to reduce his weight further. ‘I think I want to get under 200 lbs.,’ he said. Having weighed around 275 pounds at his heaviest, Smith aims to reach approximately 185 pounds once more.

Smith discussed his motivation for adopting a healthier lifestyle, emphasizing his desire to deliver optimal performances for his audience. ‘Keeping the energy on stage and ensuring I do that is crucial, as it serves the fans,’ he stated. Beyond performing, Smith acknowledged the personal benefits. ‘I just feel better. It’s nice to be able to wear clothes that I like.’ He proudly mentioned his shift from a double XL to a size large over the past five or six years.

Highlighting the numerous positive outcomes of his lifestyle change at the Nashville event, Smith noted, ‘I don’t sweat anymore, which is amazing. I used to be totally out of breath tying my shoes.’ The artist now enjoys increased agility, saying, ‘I can jump around a lot more.’

After encountering a health scare in 2024, Smith addressed his health issues, which included overeating and excessive drinking. Within a few months, through mindful calorie reduction, he achieved a 50-pound weight loss. Smith disclosed ongoing challenges with binge eating but attempts to manage it by treating certain foods as occasional treats rather than regular staples. ‘If I decide I’m going to have mac and cheese, it’s okay,’ he said, acknowledging the struggle and his progress.

Smith openly expressed that while he hasn’t fully achieved his goal, he feels significantly happier and more confident with his current state.
