53 minutes ago 0

Nvidia announced on Sunday that it has launched an investigation into reports concerning its CEO, Jensen Huang. The reports suggest that Huang was targeted by foreign intelligence.

The tech company stated that an independent investigation will examine these claims. This decision follows a note Huang sent to staff, later shared with Newsweek, admitting to an affair. The New York Times reported that the woman involved, a business executive, was identified by U.S. officials as a Chinese spy.

According to The New York Times, last spring, a memo circulated among officials in the Trump administration. This memo revealed the businesswoman’s connection to China’s Ministry of State Security.

The Board prioritizes U.S. national and economic security, which is paramount to the interests of NVIDIA and its shareholders,

said Nvidia in its statement. The company emphasized that there is no current evidence of compromised national security or NVIDIA secrets, but assured that the Board’s inquiry will consider all available information.

A spokesperson for Nvidia informed Newsweek that the recent developments will not affect the company’s operations. Jensen is committed to continuing to lead NVIDIA as CEO without interruption, they stated.

Communications to the U.S. State Department for comments are awaiting response. As this is a developing story, further updates are expected.
