1 week ago 0

Tycen Proper, a 19-year-old from Ohio, faces charges of attempted murder of a federal officer and conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States. Federal law enforcement intervened to prevent an attack on Sunday’s UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House. This information is detailed in court documents.

Proper is among several individuals arrested in relation to the planned attack during the event, which was intended to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary. According to sources, during an interview with investigators, Proper confessed to collaborating with others on a coordinated attack against the U.S. government. The event was set to occur on the White House lawn in Washington, D.C., on June 14, 2026.

The affidavit reveals that law enforcement officials interviewed Proper’s mother. She disclosed that he had begun interacting online with a group claiming to be ex-military and Christian-based. This group allegedly communicated ultra-religious and antigovernment views, as noted in the affidavit.

FBI Director Kash Patel stated in a message on X that law enforcement became aware of the potential attack on June 10. He added that multiple individuals are now in custody and that the planned attacks were effectively thwarted.

Newsweek has attempted to contact a public defender representing Proper for comment via email.
