On Monday, President Trump signed an executive order establishing a women’s health division within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and formed the White House Women’s Health Task Force. The ceremony, held in the Rose Garden, included First Lady Melania Trump. She highlighted five key objectives of the executive order:

  • Allocating research funding to address diseases that predominantly affect women.
  • Utilizing artificial intelligence to expedite medical discoveries.
  • Facilitating the development of new treatments for women.
  • Ensuring affordable access to medical advancements for women.
  • Normalizing discussions about women’s health issues.

The First Lady described this initiative as a pivotal moment for women’s health in America, emphasizing the quest for cures to enhance women’s quality of life. According to President Trump, the First Lady was instrumental in proposing the idea of a women’s health division within NIH. Highlighting the importance, he asked, “Who the hell wouldn’t have a women’s health division?” with support from Melania Trump who noted its absence previously.

The president mentioned upcoming “incredible” initiatives for women’s healthcare but lacked detailed proposals or funding specifics for research and therapeutic enhancements.
