Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Face Satirical Welcome on ‘Saturday Night Live UK’

8 minutes ago 0

Recently returned to Britain, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became the subjects of satire on “Saturday Night Live UK.” The show mocked their ties with the royal family, their Netflix deal, and Meghan’s lifestyle brand.

A Weekend Turned Satirical

The sketch began with fictional King Charles III and Queen Camilla relaxing at Balmoral. Their peace was soon interrupted by characters portraying Prince Harry and Markle, leading to a series of jokes.

Oh, Camilla, nothing like a quiet Saturday in Balmoral. Clean Scottish air, dirty Scottish people… bliss, said the actor playing King Charles.

The comedy focused on the couple’s recent return to the UK and their multi-million dollar Netflix agreement. In the sketch, Markle’s character humorously gifted an ice tray to Camilla, claiming, I made it myself. I can give you the recipe.

King Charles quipped about their financial status, Don’t tell me you spent all your Netflix money already, prompting a playful retort from Prince Harry’s character.

Royal Duties and Return

Despite their relocation, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan will not resume royal duties. Their status remains as it was since stepping back in 2020. A letter from King Charles III reiterated their independence and privacy.

The couple, along with children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, intend to live in a private residence outside London. Their move back to the UK does not alter their royal standing, as stated in the official communication.

The letter emphasized, It follows that there is no change to the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, maintaining their titles remain unavailable for use. Their charitable activities are regarded as personal endeavors.
