Retired Professor Charged in Wife’s Fatal Shooting

A retired math professor from Fair Oaks, Virginia, has been charged with second-degree murder after allegedly killing his wife, who worked as an airline meteorologist.

Police responded to a residence in Fair Oaks, where 60-year-old Chisen Jameson was found suffering from gunshot wounds. She had made a 911 call before the shooting, and gunfire was reportedly heard in the background, according to FOX 5.

Leland Jameson, age 64, has been charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He previously served as a professor at George Mason University and holds a Ph.D. from Brown University.

During the incident, Leland Jameson also contacted 911, reporting a domestic dispute with his wife and expressing uncertainty about the extent of her injuries.

Authorities discovered multiple firearms inside the Jameson residence.

Chisen Jameson was employed as a meteorologist for All Nippon Airways at Dulles Airport. The airline expressed deep sorrow over her passing, stating, “All Nippon Airways is heartbroken by the loss of our colleague. She was a valued member of our team and her passing has deeply affected everyone who knew and worked with her.”

The couple has two grown sons residing in Northern Virginia.
