Richard Gere celebrated his 77th birthday alongside his wife, Alejandra Silva, and their six-year-old son, James. Silva shared the celebration on Instagram, expressing her love with a heartfelt message. “No one I’d rather spend my life with, happy birthday, I love you, we love you,” she wrote, accompanied by a photo of the couple hugging.

The social media post also featured a picture of their son joining in the family embrace, as well as an image of Silva with the family pets. The couple, who reconnected in 2014 and married in 2018, share two children, Alexander and James.

“For a few years we’ll live in Spain, and then come back. But we’re always coming back,” Silva told the Daily Mail about their future plans.

Recently, Gere and Silva decided to relocate to Spain in 2024 to be closer to her roots. The family is balancing time between Spain and the United States, with Silva sharing, “I’m with my family… I missed them a lot. But I miss the U.S. too. So we come back and forth.”

Richard Gere shared his enthusiasm for their move to Spain with Vanity Fair Spain. He described it as a new adventure, allowing him to live outside the U.S. for the first time. “For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends, and her culture,” he said. “She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so I think it’s fair that I give her at least six others living in hers.”

Despite his strong connection to New York, Gere embraces their new life in Spain. He believes that experiencing another culture first-hand is valuable for their children. “It’s great to be living — not just visiting — but living in another culture,” Gere told Fox News Digital.

The move is a reflection of the couple’s dedication to maintaining a balance between Silva’s heritage and Gere’s background, while providing their children with a broader cultural experience.
