A search is actively underway after a tragic shooting incident occurred following a high school graduation in California. This resulted in one fatality and three injuries.
Authorities responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of Fairfield High School around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The shooting took place soon after the graduation ceremony for Sam Yeteo High School concluded, when attendees were gathered for photographs.
Officer Michelle Belyea of the Fairfield Police Department confirmed that four people were shot. She said, “One is deceased and three are receiving treatment at local hospitals.” Details about the victims’ identities and the extent of their injuries were not disclosed.
Currently, no suspects have been detained related to the incident. Officer Belyea did not provide any additional information or descriptions regarding the suspect.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, Suisun City Mayor Alma Hernandez mentioned on Facebook an “active shooter chase” in Fairfield.
