Security Concerns Raised Before Seattle Festival Shooting

On the eve of a tragic shooting at Seattle’s Bite of Seattle festival, a content creator voiced worries about security measures at the event. The incident on Sunday left three people dead and four injured, casting a shadow over the popular event.

The shooting occurred around 6 p.m., near the festival’s close. The festival, a well-known attraction, hosts hundreds of vendors and performers each year. Police have launched an investigation and requested that the public avoid the area northwest of downtown Seattle. Authorities have taken one suspect into custody and are seeking another. According to Assistant Seattle Police Chief Tyrone Davis, investigators suspect that the two individuals were exchanging gunfire.

A day prior to the shooting, a content creator with the TikTok handle “leebotracks” posted a video expressing concerns. In the footage, they claimed that festival goers entered without security checks or bag searches. They urged festival organizers to implement security protocols to ensure safety, stating, Make it happen. Keep the people safe. You should not be able to just walk up into this festival with all these people, with all these vendors, with no security.

Following the shooting, “leebotracks” addressed the incident in a new video shared late Sunday night. They said, I tried to let everybody know how security was being handled. Nobody can say I didn’t try to let people know. People really were bashing me in my comment sections on the previous videos.

The specific security measures at the festival remain unclear. Last year, organizers defended their security protocols after a vendor reported a break-in, asserting they had a strong record of security. The situation continues to develop, and more updates are expected.
