Sen. Sullivan Faces Alleged Election Interference in Alaska

Senator Dan Sullivan from Alaska is facing accusations of electoral interference from Senate Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections. In a conversation on the Ruthless Podcast, Sullivan expressed his determination to defeat Democrat Mary Peltola despite purported efforts from Senate Democrats to influence the state’s major Senate contest.

Sullivan commented on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s alleged strategy, claiming that Schumer and certain leftist groups believe the majority control of the Senate hinges on the results in Alaska. These groups have reportedly launched negative advertising campaigns against Sullivan since last June. Despite these attacks, Sullivan noted an attempt to mislead voters by recruiting another individual named Dan Sullivan to run against him. This retiree allegedly tried to create confusion among voters by adopting Sullivan’s middle initial, website design, and logo.

Sullivan remarked, “They recruited this guy; he’s a far-left progressive. He’s got support from ActBlue and has received donations from Peltola twice in the last six months. He even attempted to use my middle initial at the Division of Elections.”

Josh Holmes, co-host of the podcast, elaborated on the Democrats’ alleged strategy, stating they aimed to confuse voters by placing another Dan Sullivan on the ballot, potentially skewing election results by a narrow margin.

Sullivan, first elected in 2014, expressed confidence that these tactics would not succeed, citing strong support from his constituency. He attends events regularly and has observed moral backlash against the alleged ploys.

Mary Peltola, the Democratic frontrunner, served in the House of Representatives after a special election following Don Young’s death. Her campaign denies involvement with the other Dan Sullivan’s campaign.

Fox News’ projection lists the Alaska Senate race as a toss-up, alongside similar contests in Iowa, Maine, and Ohio. Currently, Republicans hold a 53-47 lead in the Senate over Democrats and Independents with caucus affiliations.
