Shelter-in-Place Issued During Manhunt in Lansing, Illinois

Residents in Lansing, Illinois, were advised to shelter in place following a shooting incident. Police in the suburb issued this order as they conducted a search for a shooting suspect. The suspect, described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds, was last seen wearing a black do-rag, black hoodie, and white surgical mask. He was fleeing south from the 2700 block of 170th Street.

According to FOX 32 Chicago, the shooting allegedly took place around 170th Street. In dispatch audio reviewed by Fox News Digital, there were reports of an active shooter at a chemical plant nearby, located across the street from the Lansing Police Department.

In the dispatch audio, an individual mentioned that authorities were deploying a helicopter and searching for a K9 unit. The individual also stated, “The offender shot every foreign subject in the business.” However, Lansing police have not officially confirmed details from the dispatch, such as the nature of the incident or injuries.
