Fox News’ Steve Doocy and Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds recently explored the Iowa State Fair to taste some of its most adventurous new food offerings. Among the delicacies they tried were a peanut butter and jelly corn dog and an ice cream cone dipped in butter. These unique creations are part of the fair’s tradition of presenting bold and sometimes outrageous culinary innovations.

On a different note, Beatles drummer Ringo Starr shared his favorite sandwich choice, which is quite simple: bread with cheese. During an appearance on ‘The Late Show’ in 2021, Stephen Colbert asked Starr what the best sandwich is, to which Starr replied that he prefers cheese on bread and specified his preference for goat cheese. Starr explained he avoids cow’s milk products due to their larger molecules, as he believes goat milk is more suitable for digestion.

“I don’t eat anything from the cow because the molecules are so big,” Starr told Colbert. “With a goat, it’s a good size for our bodies.”

While Starr’s reasoning isn’t scientifically supported, there are indeed differences between goat and cow milk. Goat milk typically contains smaller fat globules and has a different fat and protein composition. These factors can influence its digestion. Goat cheese is known for its tangy flavor and can be paired with both sweet and savory ingredients, such as fruits or prosciutto.

Content creator @domenicskitchen explored Starr’s favorite sandwich in a video series recreating musicians’ preferred sandwiches. In his version, he toasted bread with butter before spreading soft goat cheese and adding grated goat cheddar.
