Tatjana Genrich, known for her title as Miss Germany, is taking her talents from the runway to the boxing ring. The 33-year-old has announced her debut professional boxing match scheduled for next month. This transition marks a significant milestone in her career beyond modeling.
Genrich is not new to boxing. Before earning her accolades at pageants such as Miss Germany 2022 and Miss Intercontinental Europe 2022, she was an accomplished amateur boxer. According to the German outlet Bild, Genrich held the title of amateur state champion in the flyweight division for three years, from 2007 to 2009.
“I became enthusiastic about the sport very early on. I was often bullied at school, and I wanted to fight back somehow,” Genrich shared about her journey into boxing.
Genrich’s involvement in boxing took a professional turn when she was approached due to her role as a sponsor for ring girls at SES Boxing events. Her history with the sport was well-known among event organizers, leading to her inclusion in the promotion’s November 14 fight card. She is currently training under coach Dirk Dzemski, who has previously guided former WBO super-middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz.
Apart from aspiring to a successful boxing career, Genrich emphasized her desire to inspire young women. “I want to be a role model for young women and show them that you can be successful in both your career and sports,” she stated.
In preparation for her fight, Genrich spends five days a week at the gym honing her skills against an unnamed opponent. She expressed her commitment to training, “I work up a good sweat. But no pain, no gain. I’m really enjoying it, though.” Her determination to excel in professional boxing is evident, as Bild reported her ultimate ambition to become a world champion.
As Tatjana Genrich steps into the professional arena, her journey showcases the integration of beauty and athletic prowess, setting a new standard for women in sports.
