Taylor Fresh Foods Recalls Products Due to Salmonella Concerns

Taylor Fresh Foods, the parent company of Taylor Farms, is voluntarily recalling certain products that contain jalapeños due to potential salmonella contamination. This recall follows an earlier one involving iceberg lettuce products sourced from central Mexico, which were linked to a cyclospora outbreak affecting multiple states in the U.S.

The company decided to pull these products from store shelves after Coast Citrus Distributors recalled fresh jalapeños due to similar contamination concerns. Affected products include items like guacamole, pico de gallo, and taco dip. These products were distributed by Taylor Farms and sold in various states, with a ‘Best If Used By’ date up to August 16, 2026.

Consumers can find these recalled products in stores such as Kroger, Stop & Shop, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Walmart. In response to the issue, Taylor Fresh Foods is collaborating with the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with state and local partners, to investigate this multistate salmonella outbreak. The source of the outbreak is linked to fresh jalapeños supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors, specifically from a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico.

To mitigate further risk, Taylor Fresh Foods has stopped sourcing produce from this grower and is working with alternative suppliers to fulfill orders. No illnesses connected to Taylor’s jalapeño-containing products have been reported.

Consumers who have purchased any of the recalled products are advised to discard them immediately and refrain from consumption. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.
