Team USA Overcomes Spain to Reach FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Final

Team USA recently faced fierce competition in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. Despite a dominant 52-point win against Hungary, some fans criticized the starting lineup, questioning coach Kara Lawson’s decisions. However, Lawson stands by her choice to rely on seasoned players.

During their semifinal against Spain, Team USA encountered a significant challenge. For three quarters, Spain put immense pressure on the Americans, nearly ending their winning streak that has been ongoing since 2006. Entering the fourth quarter with the game tied at 58-58, Team USA stepped up their performance.

The Americans pulled away with a 76-66 victory, advancing to the final. Breanna Stewart led her team with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Kahleah Copper contributed 13 points, while Jackie Young added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Young’s late-game efforts were crucial, scoring 6 points in the final quarter.
