A teenager allegedly breached Portsmouth International Airport in New Hampshire while attempting to flee from police on Saturday. The incident involved a vehicle crashing through a perimeter fence and colliding with a parked plane and a tractor.
According to New Hampshire State Police (NHSP), the event occurred shortly after 8 p.m. The individual involved was identified as Wyatt Seely, a 17-year-old from Rochester. Authorities reported that he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Pursuit of Suspect
Law enforcement began pursuing Seely after identifying his vehicle as being linked to crimes reported in other jurisdictions. A state trooper spotted a black 2008 Ford Mustang on Durham Street in Portsmouth and attempted a traffic stop. However, the vehicle fled, accelerating toward the airport without headlights on.
The Mustang crashed through the airport’s perimeter fence, crossed an aircraft parking area, and eventually hit a Kubota tractor and a stationary plane.
The Mustang came to a stop shortly thereafter. Authorities posted updates on X, noting the incident’s details.
Arrest and Charges
Wyatt Seely was detained by state police officers and taken to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. Fortunately, no other individuals were injured during the incident.
Seely faces several charges, including misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated (DWI), aggravated DWI, disobeying a police officer, and conduct after an accident. Additionally, he is charged with reckless driving, a violation-level offense. He is set to appear for arraignment in Portsmouth District Court on September 9, 2026.
