A teenage boy’s body was found in the Chain O’ Lakes area after he went missing on Monday evening. The authorities reported a 15-year-old swimmer disappeared near Fox Lake at approximately 6 p.m.
Friends of the boy attempted to locate him without success and subsequently notified law enforcement. The response included multiple agencies such as the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Fox Lake Fire Protection District, and Illinois Conservation Police.
A spokesman for the Lake County Sheriff explained that the teenager was not wearing a flotation device during the incident, which occurred either when he jumped or fell from a boat into the lake.
Approximately two hours after receiving the missing person report, divers and an underwater drone discovered a body thought to be the missing teenager in Pistakee Lake, according to officials.
