Trump Administration’s Efforts to Modify Gun Policy

During his campaign for the presidency, Donald Trump promised to enhance Second Amendment rights across the United States. As president, his administration is actively working to reduce certain gun control measures that were previously instituted for public safety.

Justice correspondent Ali Rogin recently engaged in a conversation with Chip Brownlee, a staff writer at The Trace. Brownlee specializes in federal gun policy and shared insights on the administration’s strategies.

Ali Rogin’s Background

Ali Rogin is a correspondent for the PBS News Hour. Her focus is on the Supreme Court and America’s judicial landscape. She earned a Peabody Award in 2021, recognizing her contributions to News Hour’s series on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide. In addition, she is a two-time recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association.

Rogin has also been part of multiple teams that received Emmy nominations. These include her work on significant events such as the fall of ISIS in 2020, the Las Vegas mass shooting in 2017, President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2014, and the 2010 midterm elections.
