Trump Criticizes Progressive Senate Nominee Abdul El-Sayed

These people are dangerous and frankly, they are lunatics. They’re crazy, and we can’t let them get into office, Trump said. Communism is the greatest threat to our country in its history, including even World War One, World War Two, Pearl Harbor, 9/11. I think it’s the greatest threat.

Trump criticized the potential effects of communist policies, using Venezuela as an example. He claimed it led to poverty and destruction. He then specifically targeted El-Sayed, drawing the crowd’s loudest reaction.

El-Sayed, supported by figures like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, ran on platforms including Medicare for All. He has distanced himself from Democratic Socialists of America, despite Republican efforts to connect him to the movement.

In his speech, Trump reiterated a message from his previous State of the Union address, asserting that America will not become a socialist nation. He argued that Democrats aim to push past socialism toward communism.

Trump concluded by promising to counteract what he perceives as the Democrat Party’s shift toward leftist ideologies.

Together we will defeat communism, socialism and Marxism in America once and for all, Trump stated. It’s defeated. It’s going to go down. It always goes down.
