Two People Injured in CTA Bus Shooting in Englewood

Late Wednesday afternoon in the city’s Englewood neighborhood, gunfire erupted on a CTA bus, leaving two passengers injured. Chicago police reported that the shooting occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. in the 300 block of West 63rd Street.

The victims were identified as a 57-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman. The man suffered a gunshot wound to his left flank and was taken to UChicago Medicine in critical condition. The woman sustained a gunshot wound to her left arm and was initially listed in fair condition at the same hospital.

Authorities have yet to determine the identity of the suspect. Detectives from the Wentworth Area are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
