The White House responded on Thursday to criticism from Ariana Grande regarding the use of her song in a social media video showing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson addressed the issue on Fox News Digital. She stated, “We’ll say this one last time: what’s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens.”
Ariana Grande, known for her role in “Wicked,” criticized the Trump administration for using her song “Bye” in a TikTok video related to ICE arrests. She commented, urging them not to associate her music with such actions, and expressed her disapproval.
The TikTok video initially included a caption claiming the Trump administration had established the “most secure border in history.” As of Thursday, the sound had been removed from the video.
Ariana Grande previously shared an Instagram post alleging immigrants had been violently removed from their families. Additionally, she attended the Women’s March in 2017 after President Trump first took office and opposed his transgender bathroom policy on social media.
Grande supported Kamala Harris during her presidential campaign and performed at the White House for former President Barack Obama in 2014.
Fox News Digital reached out to representatives for Ariana Grande for comment on the matter.
