WWE Star Rhea Ripley Undergoes Knee Surgery

1 hour ago 0

WWE star Rhea Ripley announced she recently had surgery on her right knee. As the current WWE women’s champion, Ripley is a prominent figure in the SmackDown brand.

On Instagram, Ripley shared a ‘life update.’ She wrote about how 14 years in wrestling and sports have taken their toll. Although surgery was not her first choice, it became necessary. She expressed her determination to recover and return to the ring, saying, ‘I’ve survived, now it’s time to start thriving again so I can get back to what I love to do!’

Ripley has been absent from ‘Friday Night SmackDown’ since June 5. Reports of an injury circulated, but details remained unclear until her recent post. During her absence, she missed major events like Night of Champions and SummerSlam.

With Ripley’s absence, WWE held a contest for an interim women’s champion at SummerSlam. Chelsea Green emerged victoriously in a ladder match against Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend, and Charlotte Flair. This victory marked Green’s first world title, placing her at the top of the women’s division for now.

Fans eagerly anticipate Ripley’s recovery and potential title unification match against Green. Such a bout would likely draw significant interest from the wrestling community.
