Wyoming residents head to the polls to elect Republican and Democratic candidates for the governor’s race, as current Governor Mark Gordon cannot run for another term. Megan Degenfelder, the state’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, is among the notable Republican candidates. She has secured support from former President Trump, an endorsement seen as influential in this election cycle despite varying results in other primaries.
Retired U.S. Marine Colonel Brent Bien, who previously finished second to Gordon in the 2022 Republican primary, is running again. This time, he is not up against an incumbent and has the endorsement of the state GOP. Other Republican candidates include State Senator Eric Barlow and rodeo-production professional Curt Blake.
On the Democratic side, Ken Casner, who has run in the past two gubernatorial races in 2018 and 2022, stands unopposed in the primary and is set to be the nominee. The polls are scheduled to close at 9 p.m. EDT.
