Israel’s Ongoing Strikes in Gaza Despite Ceasefire Agreement

2 hours ago 0

Since last October, Israel has continued military strikes on the Gaza Strip even after agreeing to a ceasefire. Despite these continued actions, heavy Israeli presence remains in significant areas of Gaza.

On July 28, U.S. President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. During this meeting, Netanyahu made it clear that Israel will not accept the 15-point plan for Gaza proposed by Trump’s Board of Peace. Netanyahu emphasized that Israeli forces will maintain control until Hamas disarms completely.

Last month, President Trump announced what he described as progress in his plan to resolve the conflict. This plan, intended to end the ongoing war, was initially agreed upon by both Israel and Hamas and was marked by the ceasefire that began the previous year.

Despite the ceasefire, Israel has continued its military actions in Gaza. Trump stated that Hamas, which governed Gaza for almost 20 years, had agreed to cease its hostilities. This followed the group’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which had been a catalyst for the war in Gaza.
