Engelbert Humperdinck, at 90, credits an unusual workout routine for his vitality and fitness. The British singer, renowned as the ‘King of Romance,’ shared his exercise habits on ‘The Jim Masters Show.’

I walk out in the pool all day. I do martial art moves underwater, making it even more effective. That’s how I stay alive and fit so the audience can see me in a respectable way.

The pool serves as his workout space, contributing to his ongoing performance schedule with concert dates lined up through 2027. Humperdinck is also preparing to release a new album, ‘Faithfully,’ featuring covers of songs by Journey, the Cars, KISS, and Aerosmith, joined by guest musicians.

His 1968 hit ‘A Man Without Love’ recently featured in Marvel Studios’ ‘Moon Knight,’ connecting him with younger audiences. Humperdinck’s music continues to resonate, emphasizing that age does not outweigh the importance of quality music.

Since his wife Patricia passed away in 2021, Humperdinck’s love songs hold a deeper significance. Married in 1964, Patricia was a vital support during his early career and the years he spent traveling.

Performing remains a source of joy for Humperdinck. He describes his singing as an authentic expression rather than acting, noting that he interprets lyrics more sincerely after his wife’s passing.

I’m a ballad singer, and I love singing ballads. A good romantic ballad touches the heart and brings people together. I feel responsible for that connection.

As Humperdinck looks to the future, he hopes his music legacy endures. He aims to leave a memorable impact, viewing music as timeless, exemplified by past hits that continue to engage audiences. This enduring connection is the legacy he wishes to leave.
