President Donald Trump has expressed strong opposition against one of the Republican Senate primary candidates in Alaska. He criticized a rival to his preferred contender, who shares the same name.
Two individuals named Dan Sullivan are competing for a spot on the ballot in November’s midterm elections. The candidates are the current Senator Dan Sullivan and Dan J. Sullivan, a retired schoolteacher. Recently, Dan J. Sullivan won a legal dispute to remain on the ballot. The incumbent senator and his Republican supporters had accused him of being a decoy candidate created by Democrats to confuse voters.
President Trump encouraged voters to support the incumbent senator, who has represented Alaska since 2015. He branded the challenger Sullivan as an “imposter” associated with Democrats.
“ALASKA: Be careful, VOTE FOR THE REAL DAN SULLIVAN TODAY,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Through me, he’s brought HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS BACK TO YOUR STATE. The Dumocrats know how good he is and have put up an imposter of the same name.”
He further emphasized the importance of supporting the incumbent senator, urging: “Vote for the ‘INCUMBENT SENATOR.’ Don’t let these Fraudsters get away with this HOAX. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Dan J. Sullivan, who is a retired educator from Petersburg, refuted these claims. He stated that his decision to enter the race was driven by discontent with the performance of the incumbent senator.
