A 49-year-old motorcyclist died Wednesday night after being hit by a sedan on DuSable Lake Shore Drive, according to Chicago police. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. as the motorcyclist traveled south in the 400 block of South Lake Shore Drive in the Loop area. The gray sedan, moving in the same direction, struck the motorcyclist, police reported.
The motorcyclist was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was declared deceased.
The 25-year-old sedan driver was unharmed and was taken into police custody at the scene. Authorities from the Major Accident Investigation Unit are examining the crash.
