Las Vegas Raiders Concerned Over Star Player’s Injury

1 week ago 0

The Las Vegas Raiders face uncertainty as their key running back, Ashton Jeanty, encountered a leg injury during practice on Sunday. Witnesses noted Jeanty’s apparent struggle, as he left the field unable to bear any weight on his right leg.

Jeanty’s injury happened during an attempt to catch a pass in a team period. The scene in the indoor practice facility grew somber, with silence prevailing until assistance arrived for Jeanty.

The entire Raiders team expressed their concern by kneeling in prayer for their teammate’s quick recovery. As of now, the Raiders have not issued a formal statement on Jeanty’s condition. Head Coach Klint Kubiak is expected to address the media on Tuesday.

Ashton Jeanty, known for his leading role in the team, warmed up before the game against the New York Giants at Allegiant Stadium in December 2025. However, his activity during the team’s preseason has been limited. He recorded three carries for 16 yards against the Arizona Cardinals and did not play in a subsequent game against the Houston Texans.

Last year, Jeanty was selected as the No. 6 overall pick from Boise State. Despite challenges with the offensive line, he performed well, accumulating 975 rushing yards, five touchdowns, and contributing 346 receiving yards with five touchdowns through the air.

In the event of Jeanty’s absence, the team may rely on Mike Washington Jr., selected in the fourth round, along with Dylan Laube, Roman Hemby, and Dare Ogunbowale. Washington, who has been active in first-team reps, stepped in following Jeanty’s injury and has demonstrated promise during training camp.

The situation remains fluid, with additional remarks from Head Coach Klint Kubiak anticipated. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
