Parton did acknowledge Clinton’s qualifications, suggesting a woman could excel as president. However, she clarified on Facebook that this wasn’t an endorsement. She joked about having “the hair for” a political run, reiterating her choice to remain politically neutral.

After the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards, where her co-stars labeled Trump with harsh terms, Parton stated her preference to avoid politics.
