Records indicate that five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods will attend a Florida court Wednesday for a hearing regarding a possible plea change in his DUI case. The incident originated from a rollover crash on Jupiter Island in March, over five months ago. A WPTV photo captured an SUV, reportedly registered to Woods, overturned on its driver’s side. Authorities discovered Woods at the crash site in Martin County, approximately 40 miles from West Palm Beach.

The arrest affidavit revealed Woods failed a field sobriety test and possessed prescription painkillers. Following the crash, Woods declared he would step back from the public eye to focus on personal recovery treatment. On March 27, 2026, Woods was booked into Martin County jail.

Initially, Woods pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of DUI and refusing to undergo testing. He also received a citation for careless driving and was to appear in court on September 8. However, a court notice moved his appearance to Wednesday morning.

The plea conference for the 15-time major champion is set to commence at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Martin County Courthouse. It remains uncertain if Woods intends to change his plea or if a plea deal with prosecutors has been reached. Woods’ rollover adds to a series of crashes involving him, posing another challenge in his recent comeback after several injuries. In February 2021, Woods suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash near Los Angeles, where his SUV rolled multiple times, trapping him inside. Emergency surgery addressed open fractures in his lower right leg, and doctors inserted a rod in his tibia with screws and pins in his foot and ankle. He spent several weeks in the hospital following the procedure.

Woods returned home after finishing a month-long stay at a rehab facility in Zurich, Switzerland, following his March 2026 DUI arrest and crash in Florida. Although he remains out of competition, Woods continues to follow the sport closely. On social media, he recently congratulated Scottie Scheffler, the current world No. 1, on winning the Tour Championship, securing his second FedEx Cup title, and surpassing Woods in PGA Tour career earnings.
