Falcons Quarterback Mix-Up on Instagram Clarified

46 minutes ago 0

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa recently found himself at the center of an Instagram misunderstanding, generating considerable attention when a screenshot implied he had commented on his own post.

The Instagram post showcased photos of Tagovailoa during the preseason with a caption that read, “For the A.” The comment, “We’re so proud of you!! You got this,” appeared from his Instagram handle, @tuaman. Although the comment was deleted, Barstool Sports and other platforms shared a screenshot of it, leading many to humorously suggest that Tagovailoa had forgotten to switch to a “burner account.”

However, Tagovailoa’s wife later clarified the situation. She admitted that she posted the comment without switching to her account. “No burner account! I was busy with the kids this morning and forgot to switch back to my account.. He’s busy at work as he’s said he doesn’t have social media and I post on his behalf! Will pay more attention next time,” she explained in the comments.

Tagovailoa tied the knot with Annah Gore in July 2022, and the couple shares two children, Ace and Maisey. They have announced they are expecting a third child soon.

On the field, Tagovailoa is optimistic about his role with the Falcons. While the team hasn’t yet named him or Michael Penix Jr. as their starting quarterback for Week 1, Tagovailoa is vying for the QB1 position through preseason performances and training. He played against his former team, the Miami Dolphins, leading the Falcons to a 17-12 win, completing 7 of 8 passes for 95 yards.

The Falcons are preparing for their upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 13. Fans are eagerly anticipating the announcement of the starting quarterback. The decision will be made by head coach Kevin Stefanski, football president Matt Ryan, owner Arthur Blank, and general manager Ian Cunningham.
