His girlfriend, Mariah Bryant, is battling stage two breast cancer. In a show of solidarity, Carter shaved his head to honor her fight. She is an ICU nurse working in Nashville. He’s channeling his on-field efforts toward charity, committing to donate $427 for every tackle he achieves this season to Nashville charities aiding women with cancer.

His decision transforms the $427 flight reimbursement into community support, showcasing Carter’s character through adversity. With each sack, Carter pledges an additional $500 and $1,000 for every interception or forced fumble. A defensive touchdown will result in a $5,000 donation for cancer research.

Carter, proudly wearing a ‘Team Jesus’ shirt, shared his journey, fueled by personal experiences. ‘It also goes back to my mom. She always wanted to create a foundation for women and little girls,’ Carter reflected. Witnessing his girlfriend’s struggle profoundly impacted him, inspiring this fundraising initiative.
