Trump’s Childhood Home Renovated and Sold for Nearly $2 Million

President Trump’s childhood home in Queens, New York City, has been sold for nearly $2 million after undergoing a significant renovation. Originally built by Fred Trump, the president’s father, this Tudor-style property in the upscale Jamaica Estates neighborhood was where Trump lived until age 4.

Having been neglected for years, the house was purchased by Tommy Lin. Lin bought the five-bedroom, three-bathroom home last year for $835,000 after observing its deteriorated condition, including water damage and mold issues. He invested an additional $500,000 in an eight-month refurbishment, transforming the house with modern enhancements like a chef’s kitchen, herringbone wood floors, and luxurious spa-like bathrooms. The renovation significantly uplifted the residence from a state of disrepair, restoring its appeal in the real estate market.

The updated sale price of $1.93 million appeared on real estate websites after an undisclosed buyer entered a purchasing contract in July. Previously, the home had changed hands numerous times, including a sale for $2.14 million shortly after Trump assumed the presidency in 2017. During this period, the house was managed by Trump Birth Home LLC and temporarily listed on Airbnb, featuring Trump-themed memorabilia like a life-sized cardboard cutout, copies of ‘The Art of the Deal,’ and a framed People magazine cover.

In 2019, the house was back on the market with an asking price of $2.9 million but remained unsold until Lin acquired it. Over time, the property had suffered from neglect, including a burst pipe that led to a mold invasion, and became a haven for feral cats. Now, the home has returned to its former glory.

While the childhood home has been restored and sold, President Trump continues to make his mark in real estate and politics. At 80, he is renowned for his real estate ventures, including Trump Tower in Manhattan. As President, he has initiated his own redesign projects at the White House, adding a massive ballroom and incorporating gold-plated fixtures, synonymous with his style.
