CDC Declares End to Parasite Outbreak Linked to Mexican Lettuce

15 minutes ago 0

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has declared the end of a parasite outbreak. This outbreak had affected thousands and was traced to shredded iceberg lettuce from central Mexico.

The CDC cited a notable reduction in infections as a key reason for announcing the outbreak’s conclusion. Another contributing factor was the removal of contaminated lettuce from both stores and restaurants.

Recently, a truck carrying produce departed a Taylor Farms facility in Doctor Mora, Mexico. This occurred on July 26 and was captured in a photo by Daniel Becerril for Reuters.
