More details have emerged about the anticipated third installment in the ‘Sicario’ film series. Created by Taylor Sheridan, this gritty franchise has been a standout in cinema over the last fifteen years, particularly with its original release in 2015.
The third film has been confirmed, though initial reports were unclear about whether Sheridan would again take the helm as writer. It has been disclosed that Steven Knight will take over writing duties for this installment.
Josh Brolin, who portrays CIA operator Matt Graver, is set to reprise his role alongside Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt. Blunt, who was a major part of the first film, did not appear in the sequel but will return for the third film.
Recently, Brolin discussed the new film with ScreenRant, providing insights into the scripting and development stage. According to him, the script is currently in the “notes process,” with vital team members still refining it.
Brolin expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with his co-stars Del Toro and Blunt. “We adore each other, and we’ve all worked together before. Benicio and I, this will be our sixth film together. It’s fantastic to work with Emily again. I just sent her a voice memo yesterday, and I adore her,” Brolin shared with ScreenRant.
There is no set release date for ‘Sicario 3.’ However, the production process suggests that it will be some time before the film arrives in theaters.
