President Trump Considers Firing Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle

2 hours ago 0

Washington — President Trump stated that he and his administration are considering removing Kimberly Guilfoyle from her role as U.S. ambassador to Greece. This comes after allegations were made by Guilfoyle’s associate, claiming she requested $100,000 to settle her American Express bill in exchange for aid within the Trump administration before her Senate confirmation hearing.

“We’re looking at it,” President Trump mentioned to reporters on his way to Ohio when questioned about potentially dismissing Guilfoyle. “We’re not happy,” he added.

Businessman Eric Deters informed CBS News last week about his belief that Guilfoyle’s actions reflected a “pay-to-play” situation. He also provided CBS News with screenshots of text messages exchanged with Guilfoyle. In one message, she purportedly asked him to transfer funds. Deters mentioned he did not proceed with the transaction. “Unfortunately for Kimberly Guilfoyle, at that time, I didn’t have $100,000 to spare or I might have been foolish enough to consider it,” Deters remarked.

Guilfoyle’s lawyer has contested the authenticity of these messages, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, which initially broke the story.

Originally nominated by President Trump to assume the role in Greece, Guilfoyle is the former fiancée of Donald Trump Jr. Her Senate Confirmation hearing took place in July 2025, followed by her confirmation in September.

Ambassador Guilfoyle was prominently seen assisting during Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s recent visit to Greece.

President Trump, alongside U.S. Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle, was captured smiling during a reception at the White House commemorating Greek Independence Day on March 26, 2026. The event was also attended by John Catsimatidis, the President and CEO of Gristedes, and his wife Margo Catsimatidis.

This story is still evolving, and more updates are expected.
