Vice President JD Vance spoke at a campaign rally in Hendersonville, North Carolina, where he clearly stated his stance on the upcoming Israeli elections. Despite President Donald Trump endorsing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for reelection, Vance chose to remain neutral. In an interview with “2WAY Tonight,” he emphasized his focus on endorsing American candidates in the midterms.
Earlier this year, in April, Vance supported Hungary’s then-Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who shortly after failed in his reelection bid. Contrasting this, Trump has shown unwavering support for Netanyahu, calling him a ‘Great Warrior.’
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited Netanyahu in Israel to discuss Trump’s endorsement. While a spokesman confirmed the meeting, the Pentagon refrained from commenting.
Although Vance views Israel as an ally, he has faced criticism from Jewish commentators due to his associations and prior criticisms of Israeli officials. In a move to broaden his support, he attended the Republican Jewish Coalition summit in August.
