57 minutes ago 0

Kate Middleton consistently opts for a cherished headpiece in royal settings. At a recent state banquet, she once again chose her preferred tiara, reaffirming its place in her royal wardrobe.

Event Highlight

On October 20, the Princess of Wales appeared with Prince William to welcome Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman to the U.K. This event was held at Windsor Castle. Kate wore the Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara, a favorite she has worn multiple times since 2015.

“Kate is wearing what I like to call her ‘old faithful,'” commented Amanda Matta, a royal expert, to Fox News Digital.

The occasion also saw her in a flowing yellow gown by Elie Saab. She complemented the look with King Charles’ Royal Family Order badge and the Royal Victorian Order sash and star.

The Tiara’s Heritage

Created for Queen Mary in 1913, the tiara was modeled after an earlier piece owned by Princess Augusta, Duchess of Cambridge. Made by the House of Garrard, it features pearls and diamonds. Queen Mary left the tiara to her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II, who then loaned it to Princess Diana.

The Lover’s Knot was one of two tiaras Diana frequently wore, the other being the Spencer tiara. After Diana and Prince Charles divorced, the tiara returned to Queen Elizabeth II.

State Banquet Details

The banquet aimed to strengthen international ties and was not only a display of royal jewels. It took place in St. George’s Hall due to Buckingham Palace renovations. Guests were served traditional Omani coffee along with various teas.

State visits, coordinated between the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the royal family, serve to enhance diplomatic relationships.
