The View co-host Ana Navarro declared she would not meet with President Donald Trump. During a segment on the ABC daytime show, the panel discussed Trump’s dinner with comedian Bill Maher, sports commentator Stephen A. Smith, and musician Kid Rock at the White House. This event sparked a conversation about whether the co-hosts would attend such a dinner.
Co-hosts Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin, having previously worked for Trump, expressed they would consider an invite. Navarro, however, was firm in her refusal, stating, “No way in hell” would she share a meal with Trump. Navarro criticized Trump’s administration for targeting Latinos.
She emphasized her lack of interest in meeting Trump, claiming, “It would make zero difference” to his administration. Navarro referred to Trump’s decline in Latino support and accused his administration of cruelty, racial profiling, and unjust actions toward Latinos. She mentioned that meeting with Trump would not alter these policies.
Navarro argued for accountability through voting, suggesting voters could hold Trump accountable in the midterm elections. Her stance resonated with co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg, both of whom expressed their disapproval of Trump’s presidency.
Hostin referred to Trump as “the criminal-in-chief” and criticized his presidency as “abnormal and abhorrent.” Goldberg reflected on a history of racial profiling by Trump, conveying reluctance to engage with someone who disregards her humanity.
Despite these strong opinions, Joy Behar expressed a desire to have Trump appear on the show, as noted in a New York Magazine interview.
Meanwhile, Kid Rock shared a positive opinion of the dinner at the White House. Speaking on “Fox & Friends,” he described the evening as “epic,” highlighting the engaging conversations between the attendees, despite their varying political views.
