Christina Applegate Addresses Misdiagnosis

Christina Applegate, well-known for her role in Married… with Children, recently revealed a significant health update. In 2021, she announced her struggle with multiple sclerosis (MS), a challenging neurological condition. However, on her MeSsY podcast with actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate shared new information.

During the podcast, Applegate stated she had been misdiagnosed with MS and was uncertain about the actual cause of her health issues. She expressed, “I’m back at square one that I don’t know what’s going on with me.”

Applegate and Sigler started their podcast in March 2024, focusing on various topics, including their experience with MS. Two years ago, medical tests suggested Applegate had a condition similar to Sigler’s, affecting the nerves’ protective covering. However, a recent medical visit revealed she does not have MS. The news left Applegate puzzled, as she hasn’t experienced any improvement in her health. “I haven’t gotten better, Jamie. If anything, I’ve gotten worse in some ways,” she remarked.

Despite the misdiagnosis, Applegate continues to experience symptoms typical of MS without knowing their origin. She expressed concern about disappointing those who related to her condition and losing the drive that fueled her MS advocacy.

Last month, Applegate shared a video highlighting her positive attitude following a four-month hospital stay. In an NPR interview, she candidly discussed her frequent thoughts about mortality, stating, “I bought my plots already, OK?”
