Rogers Criticizes El-Sayed’s Policies in Michigan Senate Race

1 day ago 0

Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers criticized his Democratic rival Abdul El-Sayed during a town hall with Fox News host Sean Hannity. Rogers warned that El-Sayed’s policies could harm Michigan if implemented.

Rogers accused El-Sayed of a “pattern of deception,” labeling him a “manufactured candidate.” He claimed that El-Sayed misrepresented his political stances and described him as the “most extreme candidate.” Rogers highlighted issues such as defunding the police and releasing prisoners, positions he attributed to El-Sayed.

Rogers argued that El-Sayed’s support for the Green New Deal would be detrimental for Michigan. He expressed confidence in his own campaign’s efforts, noting significant volunteer activity. “That’s the energy we’re seeing,” Rogers said, as campaign volunteers have knocked on nearly 6 million doors across Michigan.

The Republican candidate mentioned that some traditional Democratic voters are now supporting his campaign. He provided an example of a Jewish woman who expressed concerns about showing her religious identity publicly due to fear of harassment. Rogers shared similar stories from Jewish students at the University of Michigan.

He touched on issues like housing and education, aiming to make homeownership more accessible for young adults and bring more defense industry jobs to Michigan. Rogers advocated for reintroducing shop classes to high schools to expand educational paths into well-paying trades.

In closing remarks, Rogers reiterated criticisms of El-Sayed’s policies, stating Michigan “cannot afford” them. He emphasized the risk associated with El-Sayed’s ideology.

El-Sayed’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
