Concerns in the U.S. Over French Riots

54 minutes ago 0

House Speaker Mike Johnson expressed concerns that the violent riots in France might foreshadow events in the United States if Democrats succeed in upcoming elections.

Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, likened the far-left groups responsible for the unrest in France to those within the Democratic Party. He argued that the elections are crucial to stop similar occurrences in the U.S. Johnson stated on social media platform X, “France is descending into chaos because they wanted OPEN BORDERS — just like the socialist Democrats in America.”

The violent demonstrations in France were attributed to far-left groups. Over the weekend, they disrupted nationwide protests that initially focused on economic issues like living costs and education expenses. French authorities reported over 500,000 participants, with 1,800 arrests across the country.

In Washington, Johnson said the situation in America is about ideological survival. He warned that if Democrats regain control, it would result in relaxed border controls and increased illegal immigration. He emphasized that many of those entering the U.S. could pose threats.

In France, centrist authorities placed the blame for the violent protests on far-left factions. YouTube footage showed significant damage, with historic buildings burned, and rampant looting. The presence of flags from Algeria, Palestine, and Morocco among protesters prompted some to criticize France’s immigration policies.

Rep. Brandon Gill, a Republican from Texas, commented on social media, condemning the effects of a welfare state combined with increasing migration. He suggested that this combination leads to societal breakdowns.
