Sen. Ted Cruz Warns of Potential Far-Left Shift if Abdul El-Sayed Wins Senate Race

50 minutes ago 0

The Senate race in Michigan has drawn national attention. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas voiced his concerns about a potential far-left shift within the Democratic Party if Abdul El-Sayed were to win the seat. Cruz claims that Democratic leaders fear radical influences within the party that wield significant power and resources.

Cruz highlighted a potential consequence of El-Sayed’s victory, suggesting that it could pave the way for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to become the presidential nominee in 2028. He expressed his warnings during a campaign rally for Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers.

If Abdul El-Sayed becomes the senator from Michigan, there is absolutely nothing to stop Chuck Schumer from placing him on the Senate Intelligence Committee. The committee has access to highly classified information.

Cruz raised concerns about El-Sayed, claiming that his supposed support of the Muslim Brotherhood poses significant risks. According to Cruz, this affiliation could endanger American lives by potentially compromising U.S. intelligence efforts.

The senator elaborated on the current challenges faced by U.S. service members combating Muslim Brotherhood terrorists and covert operatives working to prevent terror attacks. Cruz suggested that El-Sayed, if aware of imminent actions against terrorists, might alert them due to his alleged affiliations.

In response to these allegations, the Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed clarified his stance, stating that he has never been involved with the Muslim Brotherhood and maintains his commitment to serving the United States, adhering to the oath every senator takes to uphold the Constitution. El-Sayed is contesting against former Rep. Mike Rogers, who has backing from President Donald Trump.

The El-Sayed and Rogers campaigns have not yet addressed these claims directly through Fox News Digital as of the latest reports. Campaign events, including those hosted by Cruz in support of Rogers, are ongoing as both camps engage voters across Michigan.
