Two helicopters carrying three individuals collided in midair near McMinnville Municipal Airport in Oregon, resulting in both aircraft crashing into a field. This incident led to the closure of a nearby highway.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated the collision occurred around 2:15 p.m. local time. It involved a Robinson R22 helicopter, carrying only its pilot, and an Airbus H125 helicopter with two people on board.

A photo showed road closure signs blocking the traffic near the airport on Thursday due to the helicopter collision.
The FAA has not disclosed any details regarding injuries or fatalities, leaving the well-being of the three individuals uncertain. The crash took place in a field adjacent to Oregon Route 233, approximately one mile west of Dayton, according to Mindy McCartt from the Oregon Department of Transportation.
McCartt mentioned to Fox News Digital that the highway, along with some nearby county roads, was shut down at the request of emergency personnel without a set reopening time.

John Paskell, the McMinnville Airport Manager, informed Fox News Digital that the collision occurred off airport grounds, so the airport’s operations continued without disruption.
Paskell indicated that both helicopters were based at the airport, but he could not confirm their activities or the cause of the collision. Emergency vehicles gathered near the crash site following the accident.
The FAA announced that it, along with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), would investigate the incident. The NTSB will lead the investigation and provide additional updates.
The FAA noted that the information was preliminary and might be revised. The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and NTSB did not comment on the matter when approached by Fox News Digital.
